Nic Collins
I spent most of my early years constantly changing my hair. If you can think of a hair color, I’ve probably had it. I have always loved the creativity of this industry and the ability to change your look and change how you feel about yourself. Whether is is a dramatic color change or adding length with extensions or cutting your hair after years of letting it grow, expressing yourself through your hair has always been my passion.
Beginning my career in San Francisco in 2016, after graduating San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, I developed a passion for helping people feel their absolute best. Being in San Francisco allowed me to meet and work with many different kinds of people from all ages and all walks of life.
After moving back to Marin in 2019, I began working at Sproos Salon. During that first year I was able to take many classes for cutting and color to expand my skills and take your experience to the next level.
Recently, as I have been able to continue my education, I have added six different methods for hair extensions to create custom solutions for every need. I will be learning another method in October as well to be able to offer solutions for people with thinning hair that cannot wear normal extensions. After developing a sensitivity to Brazilian treatments, I decided to learn Pura Luxe Smoothing treatments as an alternative. With a love for large hair projects, I have also delved deep into the world of color corrections and creative color.
In order to continue offering the same great service, I have made the incredibly tough decision to begin to work independently for some of these larger scale projects. I want to be able to offer more specialized services and really spend one on one time with these longer projects.
So if you are someone who loves to change up your look, welcome, you have come to the right place. We are not afraid of change here, we embrace it.
The Space
During the last three years of working at Sproos, I have been able to create a wonderful community of clients and explore different avenues in this industry.
With taking new classes and expanding my knowledge, I decided to begin the long process of specializing and expanding to a new location.
The goal of this new space is to provide a more intimate and specialized service menu for current and future clients. Having the space to create and perfect each service has been the driving factor in this change.
So to those who have stuck with me during this transition, thank you for being loyal and patient. And to any new guests, welcome! Please come in, have a drink, relax and let’s make this new space the studio of our dreams!
Featured Artists
Occasionally the studio will feature guest artists and stylists. Currently we will be featuring Meoki Ghiringhelli a.k.a. Framework Beauty! Not only is she a close friend of mine, she is an immensely talented brow and lash artist.
She attended SFIEC for Esthetics and graduated in 2017 . She has spent the last five years at Dollface in San Anselmo. She has added Microblading and Nano brows to her resume by taking classes at Arches in Sonoma, Supernatural Brows, and Moore Beauty Love. Recently she decided it was time for a change and she began to offer an array of services at Fox + Stone in Fairfax.
She has a wide range of services from brow maintenance to lash lifts to microblading. At Elemental Haircraft she will be offering microblading and nano brow services. Her goal is to create natural looks to enhance your natural beauty. Her favorite part of these services is being able to collaborate with her guests to create an effortless beauty look. After you book a consult, either here at the studio or in Fairfax, you will be able to come see her for your microblading service on Thursdays and other days by special request.
Microblading and Nano services are ideal for those clients willing to trust in the process and allow Meoki to guide them in the right direction. While these services allow you to be fairly low maintenance after they heal, following all the aftercare procedures is incredibly important in order to get the best results.
